    Wil Hsie

Wil has a strong background in web development. He is comfortable in any part of the tech stack and prefers developing frontend technologies in JavaScript. His experience in PHP and Java make him a good fit to be part of the EpiTrax team here at End Point.

Tutor in Computer Science, Wyzant, Long Beach, California, 2018–2022. Tutored over 350 hours through the Wyzant platform on a wide range of technical topics including Java, Python, PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and Unity3D, maintaining a 4.9/5.0 star rating. Also built an internal tool to automate the collection and visualization of earnings and hours worked, reducing a manual operation time of one hour to less than one minute (Python, Pandas, Jupyter Notebook).

Software Engineer, Wayfair, Boston, Massachusetts, 2016–2017. Built an internal tool allowing team members to access and modify furniture supplier warehouse data. Reduced time to view and update product information by about 75% per action (SQL, PHP, JavaScript / Backbone.js, HTML). Worked on various bug fixes and features for the warehouse inventory fulfillment platform as part of the CastleGate team.

Software Developer, NU Game Studio, Boston, Massachusetts, 2014–2016. Developed frontend game mechanics for car driving and event triggering (Unity3D, C#). Architected and built backend API that allowed for game saves and state management for player location data across mobile and web clients (PHP, JSON). Communicated realistic expectations concerning implementation of game mechanics, and contributed to building a semester-long curriculum for teaching mechanical engineering students about cone-penetration testing.

Performance Engineer Intern, IBM, Littleton, Massachusetts, 2012. Collected and presented email server load data to optimize team workflow by providing easily digestible statistics (Python, Matplotlib). Automated email web application tests that generated data in order to visualize email server load (Java, Selenium).

    • BS, Computer Science, Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, 2015.
