    Ben Ironside Goldstein

    Ben Ironside Goldstein

Ben Ironside listens and asks good questions. As Chief of Staff to the President/CEO, his job mandate is to enable End Point’s management, help End Point continually improve, and help End Pointers succeed. Having worked in organizations large and small, he prefers the small — where he can be involved in various aspects of operations.

While he is not very technical, the bulk of his career has centered around conversations with software engineers about their work, elucidating what they’ve accomplished, and considering it from the user’s perspective. He enjoys learning about new technical concepts, and thinking through the implications of new products and features.

    Experience

    • Technical Writer, Elastic, New York, United States, 2021-2026. Wrote and maintained documentation for Elastic Security, Elastic’s AI-powered SIEM product. Focused on cloud security and AI-powered security features.
    • Technical Writer, CMD (acquired by Elastic), Vancouver, Canada, 2019-2021. As sole technical writer, worked on English-language communication throughout the organization: documentation, support, marketing, UI.
    • Instructional designer, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Cambridge, United States, 2017-2019. Created internal training materials and procedures for managing content on the institute’s website.
    • Intern, End Point Dev, New York, United States, 2011-2017. During intermittent (e.g. summer) intern work, set up VisionPort systems for clients, inventoried the cables in EP’s Manhattan office, learned about network security, and took out the trash.

    Education

    • Data Science Bootcamp, General Assembly, New York City, 2019.
    • BASc, Quest University Canada, Squamish, BC, Canada, 2017.

    Personal

When not in front of a desk, Ben enjoys many forms of physical movement, from soccer and skiing, to calisthenics (particularly handstands), and running. He is very involved in social partner dance, both as a teacher and organizer, and enjoys music and art festivals. His favorite places that he’s visited recently are Black Rock City and Madrid. He reads books made of paper.
